The WAN Configuration Engineer will be responsible for configuring, deploying, and supporting Wide Area Network (WAN) solutions across enterprise environments. The role involves working on routers, firewalls, SD-WAN platforms, and ensuring high availability, security, and performance of WAN connectivity.
Configure and deploy WAN circuits (MPLS, DIA, Broadband, LTE).
Configure and manage enterprise routers and switches.
Implement and support SD-WAN solutions.
Perform routing protocol configuration (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
Configure IPsec VPN and site-to-site tunnels.
Manage VLANs, NAT, ACLs, and QoS policies.
Coordinate with ISPs for circuit installation and troubleshooting.
Perform WAN performance monitoring and optimization.
Troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 network issues.
Maintain configuration documentation and network diagrams.
Participate in change management and incident management processes.
Provide L2/L3 support for WAN-related incidents.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking fundamentals.
Hands-on experience with routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP.
Experience in MPLS and SD-WAN technologies.
Knowledge of VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL VPN).
Understanding of QoS and traffic shaping.
Experience with firewall configuration.
Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, NTP.
Familiarity with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, etc.).
Basic knowledge of network security concepts.
Experience with Cisco / Juniper / Fortinet devices.
Knowledge of cloud connectivity (AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute).
ITIL knowledge.
Scripting knowledge (Python or basic automation).

SD-WAN-related certifications
