Technical Support Engineer

  • Manage and maintain VMware and Hyper-V virtualization environments, ensuring smooth operations and troubleshooting issues.
  • Perform routine server maintenance, including patching, updates, and performance monitoring.
  • Manage storage systems, ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • Provide hardware support, including diagnosing and resolving hardware-related issues.
  • Configure and manage SAN switches, ensuring optimal storage connectivity and performance.
  • Manage and maintain SAN (Storage Area Network) and NAS (Network Attached Storage) environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Perform storage provisioning, zoning, and configuration of storage arrays and SAN switches.
  • Monitor and optimize storage systems to ensure efficient utilization and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to storage infrastructure, including connectivity and performance problems.
  • Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions for storage systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement storage solutions that align with business requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and capacity planning to ensure storage systems meet current and future needs.
  • Maintain documentation for storage configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Manage and maintain backup and recovery systems to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot backup jobs, addressing failures and optimizing performance.
  • Plan and execute Physical-to-Virtual (P2V) and Virtual-to-Virtual (V2V) server migration projects across diverse platforms.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience with VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV and other Virtualization platform.
  • Strong knowledge of storage systems of multiple OEM like Dell, Netapp, Hitachi, etc and SAN switch configurations (Cisco & Brocade).
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory and server management.
  • Extensive experience with SAN and NAS technologies, including storage arrays and switches.
  • Proficiency in storage provisioning, zoning, and performance tuning.
  • Strong knowledge of backup and recovery tools (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, etc).
  • Experience with cross-platform server migration tools and techniques.
