Job Description:

Site Reliability Engineer, Solventum HIS Catalyst

Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive technical individual to support the Catalyst Platform as a Site Reliability Engineer with an emphasis on vulnerability monitoring and remediation. 

This role is critical to maintaining our security posture and ensuring compliance with our compliance programs.  This position will work closely with other Catalyst Site Reliability Engineers to identify, assess, and remediate vulnerabilities using a variety of tools.

In addition to securing our environments, as a member of our Site Reliability Engineering team you will also help provision infrastructure, deploy applications, improve reliability, optimize resource utilization to reduce costs and participate in an on-call rotation.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Linux-based operating systems, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), AWS services and vulnerability management tools.

Position Duties:

Monitor vulnerabilities using JIRA and vulnerability management tools such as, but not limited to, Qualys VDMR/WAS/PC, Insight Cloud Sec, Checkmarx, Nexus IQ. Ensure compute replacement and patching processes are working as expected. Monitor and remediate any issues with automated update processes to ensure ephemeral and long-running instances are updated as expected. Remediate vulnerabilities within SLA (Service Level Agreement) guidelines, or delegate vulnerabilities (Qualys WAS/DAST, Checkmarx/SAST and Nexus IQ/SCA) to the appropriate development team in a timely manner. Gather evidence to document compliance with certification programs like GovRAMP, SOC-2 and Solventum’s ATO (Authority To Operate). Create and manage cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). Assist with software deployments and upgrades for Solventum applications, unmanaged third-party applications, and managed AWS services (RDS, MSK, etc). Identify cost savings opportunities to reduce spend in AWS and other cloud providers. Participate in the on-call rotation, responding to alerts and resolving issues within SLA. Automate repetitive operational processes and responsibly integrate AI-assisted tooling into common workflows.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar; otherwise 6+ years of IT experience
  • Technical Experience
    • Linux operating system administration and package management
    • Containerization & Orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
    • Proficiency in AWS services: EC2, EKS, ASG, Lambda, RDS, MSK
    • Good understanding of common application architectures
  • Security & Compliance Knowledge
    • Understanding of vulnerability remediation workflows
    • Familiarity with compliance frameworks: GovRAMP, SOC-2
    • Ability to interpret and act on vulnerability reports

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with vulnerability management tools like Qualys VDMR/WAS/PC; Checkmarx; Nexus IQ; Insight Cloud Sec
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  • Experience with Large-Scale Messaging & Data Services (Kafka, Cassandra, Postgres, OpenSearch)
